Venerable Luang Phor Dam was born in the Year of Snake on Tuesday (15th April, BE2484). His native village was at Kg. Kok Jumbok, Tak Bai, Narathiwat, Thailand. His birth name was "Dam Krai Noi"

He became a bhikkhu (Buddhist monk) on 26th July, BE2504 at Wat Mai Napparam. His ordained monk's name was Venerable Luang Phor Dam Janthasaro and later after years of studies and serving as a monk, he was conferred the title "Phra Kru Nipphanviharati". His upacha was Phra Kru Nippatkalanyu. His KammaVachachan was Phra Patalat Puang and Phra Anussawat Nachan was his Athi Nui.

LP Dam stayed in Wat Mai Napparam for 3 years, later he then moved to Wat Prachaphirom. It was at Wat Prachiphirom that LP Dam travelled to study "Wicha" (Magical Science) under the guidance and supervision of many Arjans (Masters) He then travelled to Malaysia and study under Luang Phor Kron (Tok Raja) of Wat Bangsaek (Wat Uttamaram) for about a week. LP Dam is actually not a direct disciple. of LP Kron (Tok Raja) as rumored and speculated by many.

LP Dam spent more time studying under LP Dee of Wat Sanghasitharam, Narathiwat. (LP Dee was disciple of Luang Phor Kron (Tok Raja) of Wat Bangsaek (Wat Uttamaram), Kelantan. Under Tok Raja guidance and tutelage, LP Dee made fast progress and became a master of Wicha (Magical Knowledge). He studied Wicha in the consecration of Phra Pidta and Mai Kru (Magical Wand). He also also other Wicha such as Ammnat (Authority), KungKhaPhan (Invulnerability), Metta (Loving Kindness), MahaNiyom (Popularity Charisma) and MahaLarp (Good Fortune) from LP. Kron (Tok Raja). However, despite having mastered the skills of making efficacious amulets, he hardly consecrated much amulets. LP Dee was a "Wachasit". Whatever, he says will come "True" but LP Dee was a very low profile monk. LP Dam also learned from famous Kruba Ajarns such as LP Pee and Luang Phor Pae of Wat Pikulthong, Singburi.

(LP Dee taught LP Dam the Wicha of consecration of Phra Pidta)

LP Dam was also a keen  in meditation and he mastered both the "Vipassana" and "Kammathan" meditation. He also learned meditation from Luang Phor Boon Thiam of Wat Chok Aerong who was his close buddy. They often travelled to Northern Thailand like Chiangmai and North Eastern Thailand like Issan for the Tudong (Ascetic) practice. LP Dam recalled that he meat a very old Kruba Ajarn (Old Master) who taught him the Wicha of making "Palakid" (Male Organ shape amulet). This secret knowledge  was not known by many, only his close associates and luksit (disciples) and those who are close to LP dam knew that he made "Efficacious" (Saksit) Pladkids. LP Dam recollected that in Tak Bai, Narathiwat, there are many Thai Muslims. Even though they are Muslims, they make offerings to LP Dam and other temples in Narathiwat.

LP Dam is famous for his Mai Tao/Mai Kru (Magical Wands & Pens). He learned the Wicha from Luang Phor Kron (Tok Raja) of Wat Bangsaek (Wat Uttamaram), Kelantan, LP Dee (disciple of LP Kron) of Wat Sanhasitharam and LP Gaet (the great Chao Kanat ChaoAwat of PrachupKiriKhan)

His Achievements

At one time, LP Dam was practicing meditation in the jungles in Ayutthaya Provin ice where with his Wicha, he averted a flood disaster. After mastering such levels in meditation in Ayutthaya, he then returned to Narathiwat.

He then made progress and got the following appointments:

* BE2518 LP Dam was appointed Chief Abbot (Chao Awat) of Wat Mai Napparam
*  BE2527 LP Dam was appointed the Chao Kanat Tamboon Kaet Song (Head District Monk)
*BE2528 LP Dam was appointed as an Upacha (Preceptor) [For the benefit of some who does not know what's "Upacha" is. It's designation by the Sangha Council to empower the Chief Monk to accept potential devotees to enter the monkhood and become a fully ordained "Bhikkhu" (Buddhist monk).

His Early Years

During LP Dam's early years in Wat Mai Napparam, he made "Paladkids" (Penis Shape Amulet" and Takrut insertion into the arm. It was his lay disciple from Sg. Golok where he approached  LP Dam to consecrate Phra Pidta (Close Eye Buddha Amulet). After consecration of the Phra Pidta, this amulet became very popular especially in Malaysia and Singapore. LP Dam used his combined knowledge in Wicha of his three teachers i.e. LP Kron (Tok Raja), LP Dee and LP Gaet. LP Dam did informed his devotees that the consecration of Phra Pidta that are empowered with KhungKhaPhan (Invulnerability) and Amnat (Authority) was not that difficult to Poksek (Consecrate) and Meditated upon. However, to consecrate Phra Pidta that's empowered  with Metta MahaLarp (Loving Kindness cum Good Fortune), one must be very mindful of his feelings (vedana). Any thoughts of ill will, anger, hatred or unwholesome will render the Phra Pidta amulet null and void.

Luang Phor Dam is a "Samathat"

For those who have met LP Dam.. are aware that he doesn't speak much. He practises "Samathat" which means that LP Dam will be mindful of his speech at all times. He doesn't indulge in exaggerations or gossips. Hence, due to his strict discipline of conduct (abiding the "Vinaya", as well as Meditation and "Mindfulness", LP Dam has attained a level in Abinnya (a Supernatural state) where he has the ability to read the minds and thoughts of others.

One of the events was that one of his devotees who was wearing a Khun Paen amulet where he wanted to seek the opinion of LP Dam on this particular amulet. But before he could take it to show LP Dam. He informed his devotee that "Married man should not wear Khun Paen amulet.. as this amulet could influence him to flirt with many women besides his wife". This devotee was stunned! LP Dam then just smiled.

One time..some of his devotees were having a meeting with LP Dam to discuss some projects. Suddenly, one of the devotees had a "Flash of thoughts" pertained to some problems at his home. Immediately, LP Dam reassured him that everything will be fine and not to worry. The group of devotees wondered how LP Dam  knew the thought of this particular  devotee. Hard to believe..but it's true..

How Luang Dam's Mai Tao (Magical Pen) became famous?

It all began in Narathiwat where a bank manager from Bangkok Bank was trying hard to convince an old man to keep all his savings in the bank instead of the bank. He has tried many times to convince but he failed each time. He then got disappointed and frustrated, then one day.. he visited Wat  Mai Napparam. After paying his respects to LP Dam, he then consulted the problem with LP Dam. LP Dam presented the bank manager with the Mai Tao (Magical Pen) and asked him to chant "_______ Kartha............." before meeting again with the old man. This time, the bank manager managed to convince and succeeded in securing the old man's savings with the bank.

Then the news spread, then the popularity of the Mai Tao (Magical Pen) was much in demand. Until today, there are demands for this Mai Tao (Magical Pen).

MIRACLES (TELEPORTATION) OF LP DAM

Once there was a young man from Chiangmai who was tricked and illegally trafficked to work in Japan as an illegal worker. He was given a degraded job where he couldn't take the abuse, he then felt frustrated. Later he escaped and was straying in the busy street of Tokyo. Miraculously he was brought to the Thai Embassy in Tokyo where he was then departed back to Thailand. When his family inquired from the Thai Embassy in Tokyo who saved his son. The officer in charge of the case at the Embassy said that a Chubby Senior Monk brought him to the Embassy.

Later, the family showed pictures and albums of Thai monks, his son then came across the picture of Luang Phor Dam and recognized that this was the Chubby Senior Monk who brought him to the Embassy. The family then travelled to Wat Mai Napparam to offer Chiwon (Saffron Robe) made of 100% silk to LP Dam. LP Dam was humbled at the offering. He just wore the silk robe once, then he just kept it aside.

When his devotees questioned whether LP Dam whether he travelled to Japan, LP Dam quoted "I was in the temple all the time..."
